First Day of Dzulhijjah 1446 & Eid Al-Adha 2025

We are pleased to announce that Wednesday, May 28, 2025 (1 Zulhijjah 1446) has been confirmed as the first day of the blessed month of Zulhijjah. Accordingly, Eid Al-Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025 (10 Zulhijjah 1446). The timing for Eid Al-Adha prayers will be announced at a later date, in sha’ Allah.

Virtues of the First 10 Days of Zulhijjah & Recommended Acts

The first ten days of Zulhijjah are among the most sacred days in Islam, with immense rewards for good deeds. The Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم (said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)

Recommended Acts During These Blessed Days:
  1. Increase in Dhikr (Takbeer, Tahmeed, Tahleel, Tasbeeh)
    • “Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, SubhanAllah” Recite abundantly.
  2. Fasting (Especially on the Day of Arafah – 9 Zulhijjah)
    • Fasting on the first nine days (especially the Day of Arafah, Thursday, June 5, 2025) expiates sins of two years.
  3. Increase in Good Deeds (Prayer, Charity, Quran Recitation, Sunnah Acts)
    • Engage in extra prayers, give charity, recite Quran, and uphold family ties.
  4. Offering Udhiyah (Qurbani/Sacrifice) on Eid Al-Adha (10 Zulhijjah)
    • Follow the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) by sacrificing an animal (sheep, goat, cow, or camel) and distributing the meat to the needy.
  5. Attending Eid Prayer & Celebrating with Gratitude
    • Eid Al-Adha is a day of joy, gratitude, and remembrance of Allah’s blessings

Our Mission

The Islamic Center of Livermore is a community center for Muslims in the Livermore area to have a place where they can thrive together as a community. ICL offers a variety of community activities such as monthly guest speakers, a biweekly food pantry for the less fortunate, community Iftars during Ramadan, and many other events throughout the year. By creating a strong bond within the community, we can help those in need and create a friendly environment for those who have just arrived.
